2007 CE Public-Use Microdata
The 2007 public-use microdata (PUMD) were originally released to the public on CD-ROM on
February 9, 2009. One erratum was issued after the release. The zip files below
contain the most recent version (January 28, 2010) of the 2007 PUMD. Addenda have been incorporated into these files.
About 2007 CE PUMD
In 2007 several instances occurred where two or more UCCs were combined into a single UCC.
While the changes were made to minimize any negative effect on the data, it should still be noted that
some definitions of items have changed. Other highlights from 2007 include:
- Beginning in 2007Q2 new data became available on reverse mortgages in the CE. Data pertaining to these
new questions are found in the Interview Family File (FMLI).
- Beginning in 2007Q2 a number of Summary Variables underwent changes to their definitions.
For a detailed list of the UCCs included in each Summary Variable, as well as the changes undergone in 2007,
see the Interview documentation below.

An error was found in the release of the public-use Interview Expenditure (EXPN) files, affecting data from
2001 through 2007. Due to an error in processing, select records are missing from the FRB01-FRB07 and UTP07 files.
Note that the corresponding UCCs and expenditure amounts in the MTBI files were not affected by this error.
For more information read the full erratum notice (PDF).
