About 2009 CE PUMD
The 2009 PUMD was the first year CE included paradata in the data files. Aside from this major addition, there were not many changes from the 2008 microdata. Some of the highlights and changes in the 2009 PUMD were:
- Beginning in 2009Q1, FPAR (CU Level Paradata file) has been included in the Interview files.
FPAR contains 11 quarters of data derived
from the CAPI instrument during the interview.
The file contains information on the flow of the interview, including the time it takes to answer
each question, if the interviewer revisited questions, the language the interview was conducted in, etc.
- Beginning in 2009Q1, MCHI (Contact History Attempt file) has been included in the Interview files.
Like FPAR, MCHI contains 11 quarters of data and is contained within the Interview files.
MCHI contains data pertaining to the interviewer's attempt(s) to connect with CUs,
which includes the number of contact attempts along with the day and time of each,
reason for refusal, method of interview, etc.
