International Price Indexes: The U.S. Export and Import Price Indexes are a series of measures designed to show how prices of a "market basket" of goods or services in U.S. trade have changed from one period to the next. Almost all product categories and several transportation services are measured in the International Prices Indexes. The export and import price indexes cover nearly 100 percent of U.S. imports and exports, by value. Works of art, selected special miscellaneous exports, and commercial aircraft are excluded.
