Consumer Expenditures Survey (Annual)

Average annual expenditures per consumer unit rose 2.6 percent in 2007 following an increase of 4.3 percent in 2006. Moderate increases in spending on housing (3.4 percent), transportation (2.9 percent), and food (0.4 percent), contributed to the small increase in 2007. Full Text »

Regional and State Employment and Unemployment (Monthly)

In October, 38 states and the District of Columbia recorded over-the-month unemployment rate increases, 5 states registered decreases, and 7 states had no change. Nonfarm payroll employment rose in 10 states plus the District of Columbia and fell in 40 states. Full Text »

Laborers and freight, stock, and material movers experienced the highest number of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses requiring days away from work in 2007 with 79,000, a 7-percent decline from 85,120 in 2006. Full Text »
