1998 Metropolitan Area Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates
Riverside-San Bernardino, California PMSA REVISED
The 1998 OES estimates for this metropolitan area have been revised to incorporate corrections to some of the occupational wage estimates. The corrections were required because the State minimum wage over the three-year data collection period was significantly higher than the Federal minimum wage level. These corrections did not affect employment estimates.
Virtually all of the corrections to the metropolitan area estimates were within the published sampling error range for the estimate. While the majority of the changes were within a +/- 5 cents an hour range, there were some occupations with larger changes.
For further information about these changes please call the Occupational Employment Statistics information line on 202-691-6569.
Riverside-San Bernardino is a primary metropolitan statistical area (PMSA) in California.
Occupational divisions in Riverside-San Bernardino:
Managerial and Administrative Occupations
Professional, Paraprofessional, and Technical Occupations
Sales and Related Occupations
Clerical and Administrative Support Occupations
Service Occupations
Agricultural, Forestry, Fishing, and Related Occupations
Production, Construction, Operating, Maintenance, and Material Handling Occupations
Due to confidentiality and quality criteria, the BLS cannot produce estimates for every occupation in every area.
However, States may be able to release additional OES occupational estimates after obtaining release authorizations from establishments.
To check if additional information is available from the OES program in a State, call the appropriate office on the State Contact List.

(1) = Relative standard error (RSE) of the mean wage.
The relative standard error (RSE) is a measure of the reliability of a survey statistic. The smaller the relative standard error, the more precise the estimate.
(*) = Employment estimate is not available.
* = Hourly wage estimate is not available.
# = Median hourly wage is over $60.01.
** = This mean wage estimate may be understated because 25% or more of the employment was estimated as earning more than $60.01 per hour.
The larger the share of employment estimated in the upper open-ended interval ($60.01 and over), the more likely it is that the mean wage is underestimated.
