Consumer prices up 2.0 percent over the year ended July 2014

From July 2013 to July 2014, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 2.0 percent before seasonal adjustment, a slight decline from the 2.1 percent figure reported for the June 2013–June 2014 period.

The index for all items less food and energy rose 1.9 percent over the last 12 months, the same figure as for the 12 months ending June. The energy index has increased 2.6 percent and the food index has risen 2.5 percent over the same time span.
