Employment in wineries up 153 percent from 2001 to 2017

Employment in wineries exceeded 64,000 jobs in 2017. That is an increase of 153 percent from the 25,000 winery jobs in 2001. The number of wineries in the United States has also grown rapidly, reaching more than 4,300 in 2017, compared with about 1,000 in 2001.
