Men accounted for 91 percent (199) of the work-related fatalities in Pennsylvania. Twenty women were fatally injured on the job.
Workers 25-54 years old—the prime working age group—made up 54 percent, or 119, of the commonwealth's work-related fatalities.
Two industry sectors made up 36 percent of the workplace fatalities in Pennsylvania—the construction sector and the transportation and warehousing sector (39 fatalities each).
The transportation and material moving occupations had the highest number of workplace fatalities at 57, followed by the construction and extraction occupations with 49.
