Tony D. Williams became Associate Commissioner for the Office of Technology and Survey Processing in 2019. Before becoming Associate Commissioner, Mr. Williams was the Associate Chief Information Officer for the Client Experience Center at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where he was responsible for teams that provided enterprise level, comprehensive, fee-for-service information technology, associated operations, security, and technical support services to all USDA end users. He also was responsible for major projects such as the End User Consolidation and IT Modernization initiatives.
Previously, Mr. Williams served as the Director of the Information Services Division and Chief Information Officer for the Economic Research Service, a statistical agency within USDA, where he oversaw all Information Technology operations. Before that, he was Assistant Division Chief for Information Technology in the Demographic Surveys Division at the U.S. Census Bureau.
Mr. Williams holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from California University of Pennsylvania.
