Area

Indicates the area for which indexes are available.

Base

Indicates the designated reference date from which price change is measured, where the "current" base year is 1982-84=100 or more recent (S) and the "alternate" base year (A) is prior to the current base year (kept for contract purposes).

Item

Indicates the commodity, service, or special grouping for which indexes are available.

Periodicity

Indicates the frequency of observation (i.e. Where R=monthly or S=semi-annual data).

Seasonally Adjusted

Indicates the adjustment of time series data to eliminate the effect of intrayear variations which tend to occur during the same period on an annual basis.
