To learn more about the changing prices of finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods, see "Producer Price Indexes -- August 2005" (PDF) (TXT), news release USDL 05-1716. All producer price indexes are routinely subject to revision once, 4 months after original publication, to reflect the availability of late reports and corrections by respondents. Note: Hurricane Katrina struck Florida and the Gulf Coast after the Producer Price Index's August pricing date, and therefore did not affect the PPI in August.
