State employment changes by industry, February 2013 to February 2014

March 31, 2014

From  February 2013 to February 2014, nonfarm employment increased in 46 states and the District of Columbia and decreased in 4 states. The largest over-the-year percentage increase occurred in North Dakota (+4.1 percent), followed by Nevada (+3.6 percent) and Colorado, Florida, and Texas (+2.8 percent each). The largest over-the-year percentage decreases in employment occurred in Kentucky (-0.3 percent), New Mexico (-0.2 percent), and Alaska (-0.1 percent).
