The Producer Price Index for final demand moved up 2.2 percent from April 2023 to April 2024, the largest increase since rising 2.3 percent for the 12 months ended April 2023.

For the 12 months ended in April 2024, prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 3.1 percent, the largest advance since climbing 3.4 percent for the same period one year ago.
Producer prices for goods rose 1.3 percent over the year ended April 2024, while prices for services rose 2.7 percent. Producer prices for services less trade, transportation and warehousing rose 4.4 percent.
