Arkansas had the highest share of nonfarm employment in nondurable goods manufacturing, 6.4 percent, in December 2014. Nondurable goods include food, clothing, beverages, tobacco, medicines, and other items that typically last fewer than 3 years.

Wisconsin had the second-highest share of total nonfarm employment in nondurable goods manufacturing. Other states with large shares include Iowa, Nebraska, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Arizona, Florida, and Nevada had the smallest shares (1.3 percent each).
