Employment up at least 5.0 percent over the year in 19 metro areas in October 2022

Nonfarm payroll employment increased in 95 metropolitan areas and was essentially unchanged in 294 areas from October 2021 to October 2022. The largest over-the-year percentage gain in employment occurred in Atlantic City-Hammonton, New Jersey (7.9 percent), followed by Charleston-North Charleston, South Carolina, and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (6.5 percent each).

The largest over-the-year employment increases in October 2022 occurred in New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA (405,100), Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, California (274,200), and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (255,000).
