The number of job separations (which includes quits, layoffs and discharges, and other separations) was little changed at 5.5 million in June 2018, compared with 5.4 million in May 2018.

There were 1.7 million layoffs and discharges in June. The number of layoffs and discharges has been below 2.0 million since mid-2010. It was over 2.5 million during 2009.
