There were 14.5 million jobs in sales and related occupations, including 8.8 million retail sales workers such as cashiers and retail salespersons and 2.0 million services sales representatives. Food preparation and serving related occupations had 13.4 million jobs, including 3.2 million cooks and food preparation workers and 7.6 million food and beverage serving workers such as fast food and counter workers and waiters and waitresses.
The only other occupational group with employment over ten million jobs was transportation and material moving occupations. The 10.2 million jobs in this occupational group included 4.9 million material moving workers and 4.1 million motor vehicle operators.
