Median weekly earnings of full-time wage and salary workers were $991 for men and $796 for women (seasonally adjusted) in the fourth quarter of 2018. A year earlier, in the fourth quarter of 2017, men's earnings were $943, while women's were $771.

The median is the midpoint in the earnings distribution; half of workers earn more than the median and half earn less.
