Overview of BLS Data on Minimum Wage Workers

BLS data on minimum wage workers are summarized in an annual report, Characteristics of Minimum Wage Workers, which contains tables showing data for workers with hourly earnings at or below the prevailing Federal minimum wage by selected characteristics such as geography, occupation, industry, educational attainment, age, and sex.

Links to the most recent Characteristics of Minimum Wage Workers report and previous editions are on the BLS Reports page.

Additional information and analysis is in selected articles in the Monthly Labor Review. See the archive for articles on earnings and wages or search for "minimum wage."

More information on minimum wage workers, including laws and regulations, is available from the U.S. Department of Labor website: www.dol.gov/dol/topic/wages/minimumwage.htm.
