The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) identified several incorrect national-level fatality rates and hours worked in the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI). The affected data were fatal occupational injury rates and the total hours worked for 12 occupations, 2 industries, and Asian, non-Hispanic workers. (See table 1.) The affected data were not in the LABSTAT database, but appear in several BLS products.

These products are listed on this webpage. As of December 14, 2016, BLS was able to identify errors for the 2014 reference year. BLS is in the process of evaluating previous years to determine if similar problems exist. This page will be updated if BLS identifies more data affected by this error.
