An official website of the United States government
BLS has developed an enhanced search engine available at: http://data.bls.gov/search/. The updated search engine now returns links to related pages, data retrieval tools, Latest Numbers, Regional Resources, and more specific search results to assist users in their quest to find the most comprehensive economic data available on the BLS website.
If available, links to related news releases, program homepages, states and regional homepages display on the top portion of the results page.
In the following example, a search on the term “current employment”
returns results with links to the “Employment Situation” News Release and “Current Employment Statistics” home page.
If available, links to the Bureau's data retrieval tools display in a side box under the heading Related Tools.
In the following example, a search on the term “current employment”
returns results with links to the CES “Top Picks” and “One Screen” data retrieval tools. The results also display a link to “More E-Tools” that directs users to the BLS Data home page.
If available, the Latest Numbers box displays in the side box.
In the following example, a search on the term “CPI”
renders the Latest Numbers in the side box.
If available, the Regional Resources box displays a clickable map along with a drop-down list of States from that region.
In the following example, a search on the term “Pennsylvania”
renders Regional Resources in the side box.
This feature yields more specific search results for terms that may be related to multiple BLS programs.
In the following example, a search on the term “inflation”
yields More Specific Search Results available from CPI, PPI, and IPP programs.
