CES State and Area Employment and Earnings tables have been discontinued as of August 16, 2019, with the release of July 2019 tables. Previously released Employment and Earnings tables are available at https://www.bls.gov/sae/tables/employment-and-earnings/home.htm.
Each month the Current Employment Statistics program surveys about 140,000 businesses and government agencies, representing approximately 410,000 individual worksites, in order to provide detailed industry data on employment, hours, and earnings of workers on nonfarm payrolls for all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and about 400 metropolitan areas and divisions.
The tables presented below include data from the Current Employment Statistics program at the State and Metropolitan Area geographic detail. For more information regarding data concepts, methodology, and reliability of estimates, please see the BLS Handbook of Methods. Additional technical information can be found in the Technical Note on CES Employment.
