Errors in 2018 Consumer Prices for Natural Gas in St. Louis and Chicago

On August 10, 2018, data for the following series will be suppressed for July 2018 and data from February 2018 through June 2018 will be removed from the database and current tables.

  • CUURS24BSEHF02 (Utility (piped) gas service, St. Louis, MO-IL)
  • CUURS24BSEHF (Energy services, St. Louis, MO-IL)
  • CUURS24BSAH21 (Household energy, St. Louis, MO-IL)
  • APUS24B72620 (Utility (piped) gas per therm, St. Louis, MO-IL)

On August 10, 2018, data for the following series will be suppressed for July 2018 and data from May 2018 through June 2018 will be removed from the database and current tables.

  • CUURS23ASEHF02 (Utility (piped) gas service, Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI)

On August 10, 2018, data for the following series will be removed from the database and current tables for May 2018 only:

  • APUS23A72620 (Utility (piped) gas per therm, Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI)

Corresponding first half semi-annual averages for all affected series will also be corrected.

The CPI intends to provide updated values in our database and on current publication tables on September 13, 2018. We will also update the errata page at that time.  No national tables are expected to be affected.  Regional tables will be annotated as needed.
