Corrections to Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses data, 2011 and 2012

Because of data processing errors, incorrect estimates for national-level, private-sector, nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses were published in news releases for reference years 2011 and 2012. As of October 23, 2014, BLS discovered that the state and local government estimates at the national level also were minimally affected by this error. Estimates for states were not affected by this error.

BLS will issue corrections to the time series data in the BLS database as the data become available; however, BLS will not issue corrections to the associated news releases.

With the discovery of this error, BLS will delay the Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, 2013 release, scheduled for October 30, 2014. BLS will also delay the Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Requiring Days Away From Work, 2013 release, scheduled for November 14, 2014. Once new release dates are known, this page and the BLS release calendar will be updated.

The following national news releases contain incorrect data. They will not be reissued.
