Discontinuance of mailing of paper copies of BLS news releases

Starting February 1, 2008, subscribers will no longer receive paper copies of BLS news releases in the mail. BLS news releases will be available only through the Bureau’s Web site. A list of available BLS news releases is at https://www.bls.gov/bls/newsrels.htm. In addition, the most recent news releases can be found on the What's New page at https://www.bls.gov/bls/whatsnew.htm

Also, a free email subscription service is available for monthly and quarterly news releases — shortly after a release is posted online, subscribers receive an email message containing an abstract of the news release and a link to the PDF version. The subscription form is at https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USDOLBLS/subscriber/new.

The discontinuance of the mailing of paper copies of BLS news releases resulted from unanticipated budget constraints faced by BLS. See https://www.bls.gov/bls/budgetimpact.htm for details.
