Jeffrey Hill became the Associate Commissioner for the Office of Prices and Living Conditions in 2020. Mr. Hill leads the strategic direction of production, development, and research for six divisions focused on prices and spending in the United States. These include three principal federal economic indicators—the Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, and Import and Export Price Indexes—along with the Consumer Expenditure Surveys, Price Index Research, and Price Statistical Methods.
From 2016 to 2020, Mr. Hill served as the Assistant Commissioner for the Producer Price Index. Mr. Hill served as Chief of the Producer Price Index Branch of Program Development and Process Measurement from 2005 to 2016 and was Acting Chief of the Producer Price Index Branch of Index Methods and Analysis from 2014 to 2016. Before joining the Producer Price Index, Mr. Hill served as the Development Chief for the Import and Export Price Indexes from 2003 to 2005.
Mr. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English Literature from Boston University and a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management from Johns Hopkins University.
