Kerry Neal, Associate Commissioner for Administration

In 2024, Kerry Neal Neal joined BLS as the Associate Commissioner for Administration. Prior to joining BLS, Mr. Neal served at the Department of Education as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management and Planning/Deputy Director for Administration and Policy, Institute of Education Sciences (IES), which also houses the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). He previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Grants, and Risk Management and Senior Procurement Executive. Mr. Neal’s prior appointments include executive/leadership positions at the Department of State and the Environmental Protection Agency. He has 17 years of government service and more than 25 years of administrative, financial management, grants, and mission support experience in private sector, state, and federal government service.

Mr. Neal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Long Island University, a Master of Arts in Legal Administration and Business Management from Marymount University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Environmental and Energy law from Georgetown University Law Center.
