MLS definitions closely follow definitions originally published in Digital Economy 2003, (U.S. Department of Commerce, Economics and Statistics Administration, 2003), which were based on NAICS 2002 industries.
(2) The industries included in this grouping, based on the 2012 NAICS, are: semiconductor machinery manufacturing; other commercial and service machinery mfg.; electronic computer manufacturing; computer storage device manufacturing; other computer peripheral equipment mfg.; bare printed circuit board manufacturing; semiconductors and related device mfg. capacitor, resistor, and inductor mfg.; electronic connector manufacturing; printed circuit assembly manufacturing; other electronic component manufacturing; industrial process variable instruments; electricity and signal testing instruments; analytical laboratory instrument mfg.; computer and software merchant wholesalers; and electronics stores.
