BLS to Discontinue Selected PPIs

With the release of Producer Price Index (PPI) data for July 2025 on August 14, 2025, BLS will end calculation and publication of approximately 350 indexes. The elimination of these indexes includes data from PPI industry, commodity, Final Demand-Intermediate Demand (FD-ID), and special index classifications.

The indexes to be discontinued include those from the 34 industries noted below, along with their associated commodity counterparts:

Changes in index availability that result from these eliminations will be listed in tables 15 through 20 of the July 2025 PPI Detailed Report, which will be available at www.bls.gov/ppi/detailed-report/. Please note, although these indexes are being eliminated with the release of PPI data for July 2025, they will not be moved to the PPI discontinued databases until a later date.
