The Data Users Conference is an event held by the Bureau of Labor Statistics Boston regional office to showcase the labor market data available to the public and provide insight on the different ways labor market data can be used to analyze the U.S. economy. Come to hear about demographic trends in the labor market and in consumer spending in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This event is free.
This year the Bureau of Labor Statistics is working closely with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development to bring together expert economists that will shed light on the labor market changes taking place in these unique times.
BLS Commissioner William Beach will discuss the actions the Agency has taken to continue to deliver gold standard data for public use. Associate Commissioner Julie Hatch Maxfield and Associate Commissioner Jeffrey Hill will discuss labor force and spending trends by demographic since the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dr. Mahesh Ramachandran and Daniel H. Cooper will discuss labor force trends and how they’re impacting the New England and Massachusetts economies.
