Fuel oil average price correction in the U.S., Northeast, New England

On January 14th, 2020, data for the following series was suppressed for December 2019 and data from November 2019 was removed from the database and current tables:

  •  APU000072511 (Fuel oil #2 per gallon (3.785 liters), U.S. city average)
  •  APU010072511 (Fuel oil #2 per gallon (3.785 liters), Northeast)
  •  APU011072511 (Fuel oil #2 per gallon (3.785 liters), New England)
  •  APUN00072511 (Fuel oil #2 per gallon (3.785 liters), Size Class B/C)
  •  APUN00072511 (Fuel oil #2 per gallon (3.785 liters), Northeast Size Class B/C)

The CPI intends to provide updated values in our database and on current publication tables on February 13th, 2020.  Monthly price indexes are unaffected by the error.
