In coming months, there will be changes to the publication status of some CPI series.
With the publication of January 2022 data in February 2022, the following changes will go into effect:
- Publication for the pet services index will resume, after being discontinued in December 2020.
- Publication for the motor vehicle insurance index for all published areas other than the U.S. city average will be discontinued.
- The title of the land-line telephone services index is being changed to residential telephone services.
With the publication of April 2022 data in May 2022, the changes to the data source for new vehicles will go into effect, and at the same time one special relative series will be discontinued:
- Publication of the new cars and trucks index will be discontinued.
