The Current Population Survey (CPS) is a monthly survey of U.S. households that is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The questionnaire used to collect data for the CPS is divided into two basic parts: (1) household and demographic questions, and (2) labor force questions. Supplemental questions are added to the CPS nearly every month and cover a number of different topics.
Additional information about the survey collection process, including the questionnaire, is available from the Census Bureau.
