- Exclude Biological and Life Scientists (A078) and Medical Scientists (A083).
These occupations are concerned with diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of animal disorders. Must be a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Include the following occupation:
Veterinarians—-Concerned with the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of animals with diseases and disorders. Promote animal health. Test dairy herds for tuberculosis and brucellosis, and inoculate animals against diseases. Perform autopsies to determine causes of death. May specialize in controlling animal diseases communicable to people, other specializations may be Animal Anatomist, Veterinary Inspector, Veterinary Physiologist, and Public Health Veterinarian.
