Compensation costs up 0.9% Sep 2024 to Dec 2024 and up 3.8% over the year ending Dec 2024

Compensation costs increased 0.9 percent for civilian workers, seasonally adjusted, from September 2024 to December 2024. Over the year, total compensation rose 3.8 percent, wages and salaries rose 3.8 percent, and benefit costs rose 3.6 percent.

Private industry compensation costs average $44.67 per hour worked in December 2024

Employer costs for private industry workers averaged $31.47 per hour worked for wages and salaries and $13.20 for benefits in December 2024. Employer costs in leisure and hospitality averaged $16.25 per hour worked for wages and salaries and $3.65 for benefits.
