Business Employment Dynamics

Research Data

Research data available from the Business Employment Dynamics program

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) produced research data on firm size-class for employers that participated in Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs) in 2023. These data were produced for inclusion in the 2026 Pooled Employer Plan Bulletin published by the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). Participating employers were identified by EBSA based on Statistical Year 2023 Form 5500 Schedule MEP filings and attachments. Firm size-class is based on total employment across all establishments reported under the same Employer Identification Number (EIN) for 2023.
