PPI Revision - Current Series - Field Definitions

Industry

Is based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The series ID consists of the industry code (a 6-character string) repeated twice for each industry or major industry group. Major industry groups of less than 6 characters are left-justified and filled with "-" signs to reach six characters.

Product

Detailed product codes are the numerical extensions to the industry codes which designate specific products manufactured within an industry.
