Florida: Price Movements of Top Exports and Other Highlights

Exports from Florida totaled $72.2 billion in 2024, up 4.7 percent from 2023. The price index for the top export industry in Florida, computer and electronic product manufacturing, increased in March. Export prices for transportation equipment manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, and chemical manufacturing also advanced over the same period.

Top Six Florida Exports by Trade Dollar Value, 2024

  • Florida exports represented 3.5 percent of the U.S. export total in 2024.
  • Florida accounted for 5.8 percent of total U.S. exports of computer and electronic product manufacturing by trade dollar value in 2024, ranking third among all states.
  • The top 6 export industries from Florida accounted for 73.5 percent of the state’s total 2024 export trade dollar value.

U.S. Export Price Indexes: Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

  • Computer and electronic product manufacturing export prices advanced 0.2 percent in March.
  • A 0.7-percent rise in prices for computer and peripheral equipment manufacturing contributed to the 1-month increase in prices for computer and electronic product manufacturing.
  • Export computer and electronic product manufacturing prices ticked up 0.1 percent for the 12 months ended March 2025.

  • The price index for export transportation equipment manufacturing increased 0.2 percent in March.
  • Transportation equipment manufacturing export prices rose 2.8 percent for the 12 months ended March 2025.
  • A 3.1-percent rise in prices for motor vehicle body and trailer manufacturing contributed to the 12-month advance in prices for transportation equipment manufacturing.
