Import prices rise 1.4% in January on higher prices for fuel; export prices up 2.5%


U.S. import prices advanced 1.4 percent in January, after rising 1.0 percent in December. Prices for exports increased 2.5 percent in January following a 1.3-percent advance the previous month. Over the past year, import prices rose 0.9 percent and export prices increased 2.3 percent.
