Georgia: Price Movements of Top Exports and Other Highlights
June 2025
Exports from Georgia totaled $53.1 billion in 2024, an increase of 6.5 percent from 2023. The price index for the largest export industry in Georgia, transportation equipment manufacturing, increased in May. Export prices for computer and electronic product manufacturing and chemical manufacturing declined in May, while prices for export machinery manufacturing also advanced over the same period.
Top Six Georgia Exports by Trade Dollar Value, 2024
- Overall exports from Georgia represented 2.6 percent of the U.S. total export trade dollar value in 2024.
- Georgia accounted for 4.8 percent of total U.S. exports of transportation equipment manufacturing by trade dollar value in 2024.
- The top 6 export industries from Georgia accounted for 70.7 percent of the state’s total 2024 export trade dollar value.
U.S. Export Price Indexes: Transportation Equipment Manufacturing
- The price index for export transportation equipment manufacturing increased 0.2 percent in May.
- Transportation equipment manufacturing export prices rose 2.9 percent for the 12 months ended May 2025.
- A 3.8-percent rise in prices for motor vehicle parts manufacturing contributed to the 12-month advance in prices for transportation equipment manufacturing.
U.S. Export Price Indexes: Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing
- Computer and electronic product manufacturing export prices edged down 0.1 percent in May.
- The monthly decrease in export prices for computer and electronic product manufacturing was driven by a 0.3-percent decline in prices for computer and peripheral equipment manufacturing.
- Export computer and electronic product manufacturing prices advanced 0.2 percent for the 12 months ended May 2025.
U.S. Export Price Indexes: Machinery Manufacturing
- The price index for export machinery manufacturing advanced 0.3 percent in May.
- Export machinery manufacturing prices increased 0.9 percent from May 2024 to May 2025.
- A 2.6-percent advance in prices for industrial machinery manufacturing contributed to the 12-month increase in prices for machinery manufacturing.
U.S. Export Price Indexes: Chemical Manufacturing
- Export chemical manufacturing prices declined 0.3 percent in May.
- A 1.3-percent decrease in prices for resin, synthetic rubber, and artificial synthetic fibers manufacturing contributed to the decline in prices for chemical manufacturing in May.
- The price index for chemical manufacturing exports advanced 3.4 percent over the past year.
