Texas: Price Movements of Top Nonenergy Exports and Other Highlights
April 2026
Texas remained the top exporting state in 2025, with a total export trade dollar value of $450.3 billion, 0.9 percent lower than 2024. The export price index for computer and electronic product manufacturing, the largest nonenergy export industry from Texas, decreased in March. In contrast, export prices for chemical manufacturing, transportation equipment manufacturing, and machinery manufacturing advanced in March.
Top Six Texas Nonenergy Exports by Trade Dollar Value, 2025
- The combined value of exports from Texas represented 20.7 percent of the 2025 U.S. total export trade dollar value.
- Texas accounted for 23.4 percent of the total U.S. export trade dollar value for computer and electronic product manufacturing in 2025, ranking first among U.S. states in exports for the industry.
- The top 6 nonenergy exports from Texas accounted for 82.6 percent of the total trade dollar value of Texas nonenergy exports in 2025.
U.S. Export Price Indexes: Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing
- Computer and electronic product manufacturing export prices declined 0.4 percent in March.
- The monthly decrease in export prices for computer and electronic product manufacturing was driven by a 3.5-percent decline in prices for export semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing.
- Export computer and electronic product manufacturing prices advanced 0.2 percent for the 12 months ended March 2026.

U.S. Export Price Indexes: Chemical Manufacturing
- Export chemical manufacturing prices advanced 0.9 percent in March.
- A 3.0-percent rise in prices for resin, synthetic rubber, and artificial synthetic fibers manufacturing contributed to the advance in prices for export chemical manufacturing in March.
- The price index for chemical manufacturing exports increased 0.2 percent over the past year.

U.S. Export Price Indexes: Transportation Equipment Manufacturing
- The price index for export transportation equipment manufacturing increased 0.2 percent in March.
- Transportation equipment manufacturing export prices rose 2.6 percent for the 12 months ended March 2026.
- A 3.7-percent rise in prices for motor vehicle body and trailer manufacturing contributed to the 12-month advance in prices for export transportation equipment manufacturing.

U.S. Export Price Indexes: Machinery Manufacturing
- The price index for export machinery manufacturing ticked up 0.1 percent in March.
- Export machinery manufacturing prices increased 2.5 percent from March 2025 to March 2026.
- A 5.9-percent advance in prices for other general purpose machinery manufacturing contributed to the 12-month rise in prices for export machinery manufacturing.
