Effects of strong dollar, economic recovery apparent in first-half import and export prices

Small prices rises for imports continued to help dampen domestic inflation during the first half, but exporters encountered some difficulties as the powerful dollar drove up the prices of their goods in world markets and other nations failed to keep pace with the U.S. recovery.
