Consumer price rise slows in first half of 1991

An annual rate of increase of 2.7 percent was the smallest 6-month increase in nearly 5 years. Lower prices for petroleum-based products were the chief contributory factor. This article summarizes changes in the Consumer Price Index during the first six months of 1991.
