Manufacturing industries that are greatly involved in international trade are more geographically concentrated than those that are not, with export-sensitive industries generally located in different regions than import-sensitive industries. Trade-related displacements are also geographically concentrated. This article provides estimates of geographic clustering by industrial sector and shows how certain industry characteristics are related to geographic concentration.
