Training among young adults: who, what kind, and for how long?

Data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth show that 38 percent of young adults received training during 1986-91; whites and men were more likely to receive company training, while nonwhites and women were more highly represented in off-the-job training programs. This article presents information on the acquisition of training, using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth.
