As in the past few years, job security is expected to be a top issue in many contract talks in 1995, when bargaining will be heavy for both private industry and State and local governments. The 1995 collective bargaining year is heavy, with 42 percent of workers under major agreements in private industry and State and local government having contracts scheduled to expire or reopen during the year. This article contains information on the 1995 bargaining calendar, based on data available to BLS as of fall 1994.
