From June 2012 to June 2013, the largest over-the-year percentage gain in employment occurred in Midland, Texas (+6.4 percent), followed by Santa Cruz-Watsonville, California (+6.3 percent), and Winchester, Virginia-West Virginia (+5.6 percent).

The largest over-the-year percentage decreases in employment occurred in Decatur, Illinois (-4.3 percent), Ocean City, New Jersey (-3.9 percent), and Atlantic City-Hammonton, New Jersey (-3.5 percent).

In June, 282 metropolitan areas had over-the-year increases in nonfarm payroll employment, 79 had decreases, and 11 had no change.
