Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.8 percent for the year ended August 2015

The Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.8 percent from August 2014 to August 2015. This was the seventh consecutive 12-month decrease. The index for final demand goods decreased 4.1 percent, led by a 19.6-percent decline in prices for final demand energy.

The index for trade services, which measures changes in the margins wholesalers and retailers receive, increased 1.2 percent. Prices for transportation and warehousing services decreased 3.0 percent, the sixth straight 12-month decrease.
