Alcoholic beverage prices up 21 percent from October 2006 to October 2016

From October 2006 to October 2016, prices for alcoholic beverages have gone up 21 percent, compared with 12 percent for nonalcoholic beverages and beverage materials. Much of the increase in prices of alcoholic beverages can be attributed to a 32-percent increase in prices for alcoholic beverages consumed away from home.
