Median weekly earnings increase 2.9 percent for full-time workers

Weekly earnings of the nation's 111.2 million full-time wage and salary workers were $824 (not seasonally adjusted) in the second quarter of 2016, an increase of 2.9 percent from a year earlier ($801).

From the second quarter of 2015 to the second quarter of 2016, median usual weekly earnings increased 2.6 percent for men who usually worked full time and 2.5 percent for women. In the second quarter of 2016, women who usually worked full time had median weekly earnings of $744, or 81.8 percent of the $909 median for men. 

Among the major race and ethnicity groups, median weekly earnings for full-time wage and salary workers were $854 for Whites in the second quarter of 2016, $677 for Blacks or African Americans, $1,021 for Asians, and $618 for workers of Hispanic or Latino ethnicity.
